Farallon Electronics specializes in high-performance sailing electronics, marine equipment sales, installation, and support services. Founded by Eric Steinberg in 1989, the company has built a strong reputation for precision craftsmanship, reliability, and exceptional customer service in the marine industry. We are committed to delivering best-in-class sailing and marine electronics solutions designed for performance, durability, and offshore conditions.

Farallon Electronics takes its name from the Farallon Islands, located 26 miles off the coast of San Francisco, California—an iconic offshore destination that reflects our focus on ocean-going reliability and performance-driven marine technology.

Design and Sales

Farallon provides comprehensive marine and electronics project services, including system design, technical consulting, professional installation, and ongoing support. We offer complete equipment packages, custom wiring solutions, and individual parts sales to support projects of any scale. With extensive experience in both domestic and international sales and shipping, we ensure reliable global fulfillment. All equipment warranties are managed directly through our office for streamlined service and customer support.

Yev Ossipov

President of Farallon Electronics. He actively sails and races in the SF Bay Area and offshore. Yev is a USCG certifed boatbuilder and carries extensive experience in construction management and custom fabrication across a broad range of trades and disciplines. He specializes in project management starting from initial consultation through system design, installation, and commissioning.

Eric Steinberg

Founder of Farallon Electronics. He is an FCC licensed marine electronics technician with extensive experience on custom yachts. Eric specializes in three areas: product development and system design, grand prix racing yacht systems from One Design to Americas Cup and video technology from the broadcast television industry. Eric has won an Emmy award, shares in two patents and has numerous accolades for his work and products.

Janice

Accounting Manager and Office Admin, wearing almost all the “hats” we have. Janice is the financial contact for vendors (AR / AP).

Simon Leach

Simon was raised in Oregon and developed a love for the outdoors throughout his childhood. His father taught him how to sail in Port Townsend, Washington, sparking a connection to the water. He earned a B.S. from the University of Oregon with a double major in Business and Psychology before attending the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding to study in Marine Systems. Since then, he has built a career in the marine industry, working with electrical and mechanical systems on a wide range of vessels. He is driven by curiosity and a desire to keep learning, whether on the water, in the mountains, or on the job.

Katie McKinnon

Katie grew up sailing in Maine and developed a lifelong passion for the ocean. She earned dual degrees in Economics and Environmental Studies from Saint Michael's College in Vermont and completed an apprenticeship at Spaulding Boatworks. Inspired by dreams of sailing and climbing in remote destinations around the world, she is excited to help adventurers design, install, and maintain dependable marine electrical systems for epic expeditions.
